Position
Stefan Leimgruber is a partner and the head of Schellenberg Wittmer’s dispute resolution group in Zurich. He represents clients before Swiss courts and in international arbitration proceedings (both ad hoc and institutional), with a particular focus on disputes in the financial industry, post‑M&A and corporate matters, interim measures, and the enforcement of foreign judgments and awards. He also has extensive experience handling complex disputes arising out of joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements, international sales and related transactions, agency and distribution relationships, as well as license and supply agreements. He regularly serves as arbitrator.
Stefan speaks and publishes on national and international dispute resolution and is ranked as a leading individual by the major directories. The Lexology Index 2025 lists him as one of only five Global Elite Thought Leaders for Commercial Litigation in Switzerland, highlighting his "stellar reputation for complex, cross‑border financial and corporate disputes".

- Acts as counsel and as arbitrator in international arbitrations, ad hoc and institutional, in particular in post-M&A and shareholder disputes as well as in disputes relating to joint ventures, license, purchase, and distribution agreements
- Advises and represents sport federations, officials and athletes in sports law matters
