Barbara is a former Stibbe partner and civil law notary. She has been practising law since 1988, and today advises a range of clients in her role as of counsel.

Her experience and specialisations cover a broad range of areas including corporate governance, ESG, capital protection rules, liability of managing directors and supervisory directors, and other areas of company law. On these matters, Barbara works in close partnerships with both national and international clients (including listed companies).

Previously, Barbara was full professor of Corporate Law and Corporate Governance at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. She regularly teaches post-graduate courses at various institutes. She has vast experience in executive education which includes work with boards and individual board members. She has (co-)authored several books and numerous articles on corporate governance and company law.

She is and has been a member of a number of boards and committees and various editing boards of journals and books on corporate law and corporate governance.
