Gudbjorg is an expert in the field of Tax, M&A, Corporate law, Transactions and Restructurings.
Gudbjorg has led multiple buy-side and vendor due diligence projects on targets in various industries in both internal and cross-border transactions, e.g. on the largest oil companies in Iceland, airlines, real estate companies, IT providers, hospitality and tourist operators, energy- and resources and other. Gudbjorg furthermore has worked as a liquidator for bankrupt estates and has provided extensive tax and legal advisory work for Icelandic financial institutions and former banks in winding-up proceedings. By combining her deep knowledge of Tax law and Corporate law, Gudbjorg has been known to deliver high quality holistic advice to satisfy the needs of the firm’s clients.
Gudbjorg has also been a public speaker and lecturer on numerous events and seminars at Deloitte, Reykjavik University and with other professional associations such as the Institute of State Authorized Public Accountants in Iceland, FKA, the Composers’ Rights Society of Iceland and the Icelandic Visual Art Copyright Association regarding tax matters.
Gudbjorg has been eminent in discussing tax matters in the market, both by publishing articles on tax topics, being interviewed in television, newspapers, and other mediums, and participate in large events regarding recent tax rulings or tax topics. Gudbjorg has regularly spoken on tax matters in the media, both in local newspapers and in television and radio interviews.
Gudbjorg has been with Deloitte since 2007. Prior to joining Deloitte, Gudbjorg worked at the Icelandic bank Landsbanki Íslands hf.
