Fernando is an expert in labor law specialized in restructuring, downsizing plans, and collective bargaining issues. His experience also extends to preventive defense and litigation, regulation of employment records, resolution of legal disputes, including legal assistance and representation in court, due diligence, advice on the labor implications of mergers and acquisitions, business succession, contract drafting, bargaining conditions, team building, and staffing, hiring and retaining staff. Fernando joined Deloitte in 2014 after he was a member been part of the Labour Department at Garrigues and CMS Albiñana, where he directed the Employment practice. He has also worked in the US office of Kavanagh Maloney & Osnato in New York.

He is recognized by Chambers Europe (Employment) by Legal 500 as Highly Regarded and he is also included in Best Lawyers.
