Octave Schyns is part of our EU and Competition law team, dividing his time between our Rotterdam and Brussels offices. Octave advises and represents a range of clients, with the team currently assisting companies with the filing of concentration notifications. Cartel arrangements and abuse of dominant positions in the market are other areas Octave advises on. His clients also include authorities and private parties, who seek his advice on EU state aid law and public procurement law.

Octave obtained Masters degrees in European Economic Law and European Private Law from Stockholm University and the University of Amsterdam, respectively. He completed several traineeships at leading law firms in the Netherlands and abroad, plus one at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EU Law department). Before joining AKD, Octave worked for the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, focusing on competition law and regulated markets.
