Career

Nikee Groot is a lawyer at AKD who specialises in international and European law with a focus on procurement law, state aid and competition law. Nikee advises and represents clients, for example, in connection with the procurement within the social domain (youth services and social support) as well as supporting clients in cases across the full breadth of procurement law.

She also advises clients on state aid law issues and assists both cartel members and cartel victims in cases relating to private compensation due to a violation of competition law. Nikee’s clients include (decentralised) government bodies and companies.

In addition to her legal work Nikee gives lectures, presentations and in-house courses in the field of European and Dutch procurement law and state aid. She is also one of the editors of Gezondheidsrecht Updates (GZR).

Nikee litigates both before Dutch courts and the European Court of Justice. She also has experience with the procurement procedures of European institutions (financial regulation), state aid notifications to the European Commission and proceedings at the competition authorities.

When dealing with a case Nikee makes sure that the strategy links up properly with the political or commercial interests.

Lastly Nikee publishes regularly in journals such as JAAN, TA and the Tijdschrift voor Gezondheidsrecht.
