Benelux firm AKD appoints partners: Passing the baton to the next generation

AKD Benelux lawyers has appointed five new partners, four of them "home-grown”, managing partner Erwin Rademakers clarifies. “It gives immense pleasure to see colleagues developing and, as next-generation partners, contributing to building the future of our firm.” 

Joyce van den Nouwland assists and advises clients on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Her advisory work extends to corporate issues, including corporate governance. Joyce has considerable experience advising the manufacturing, automotive and healthcare industries.

Sander Engels specialises in construction and real estate law, working on complex construction and infrastructure projects, real estate transactions and construction disputes. Clients value his advice on integrated contracts, area area and project development issues and public procurement law.

Thijs Hekman focuses mainly on financing, security and insolvency law, frequently litigating over these and other corporate disputes. Issues involving financial institutions are his particular speciality.

Fouad el Houzi has built a practice that encompasses litigating matters relating to financing, debt settlements, D&O liability and garnishment, or settling them out of court. His clients include directors, officers, creditors, investors, shareholders and financial institutions such as leasing companies.

Rutger van Thiel advises listed and unlisted domestic and international companies, family-owned companies and financial institutions about corporate structures and structured financing for joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
