Career
Uwe Wellmann is Partner and Head of ADVANT Beiten's Berlin office and Co-Head of the Competition practice group. His area of expertise comprises the planning and execution of German and European merger control proceedings including the verification and coordination of filing obligations worldwide. He further focuses on providing comprehensive advice and representation in cartel proceedings before antitrust authorities and courts. Uwe Wellmann also has longstanding expertise regarding the high-value consumer goods industry and is an expert in cosmetic law. In this context he advises on both the creation and protection of��selective distribution systems as well as on labelling and advertising related issues, always applying a practical focus. Furthermore, he has special market knowledge in the sectors healthcare, art law and building materials.
Uwe Wellmann studied law at the University of Passau and English law at King‘s College in London. After legal training in Berlin, he completed a commercial business trainee programme at Peek & Cloppenburg KG in Dusseldorf. He was admitted to the German Bar in 1997 and is a licensed specialist for IP and competition law. From 1998 to 2013, he worked as a Partner with a firm specialised in commercial and antitrust law in Berlin and joined ADVANT Beiten as Partner in 2013.
