Career

Johanna joined Zacco in 1990 after graduating from Uppsala (LL.M). She specialised in intellectual property law with a view to helping to foster innovation and protect the development of IP rights.

She is an expert in IP Strategy, guiding her clients through the implications of both the legal and commercial aspects of brand right development. Often acknowledged as a trusted advisor to her clients, Johanna helps organisations to identify and capture ideas as they happen, putting processes in to place to encourage further innovation and an awareness of IP. Her experience spans small start-ups working on the first right to multinationals with global portfolios and she is quickly able to recognise the commercial viability of client rights, identifying how they should best be protected.

Johanna is also a skilled negotiator, often acting as intermediary, and drafting comprehensive licensing agreements or commercial contracts related to a range of IP or branding issues. She is able to evaluate and advise on the potential value of rights, and is often tasked with complex legal IP topics such as inventorship and rights of ownership, among others.

Johanna regularly offers her time in the pursuit of advancing the IP and Legal professions, partnering with organisations to deliver lectures on the subject of intellectual property, strategy and insight into relevant legal implications.

Johanna is a Swedish Authorised IP Attorney as well as a professional representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and a member of various national and international associations active within the field of intellectual property.
