Career
A lawyer, founder and the managing partner of the Saudi Office, Lawyers & Consultants. Dr. Al-Suwailem is a Saudi national obtained his LLB from Bagdad University 1968, Diploma of Criminal Sciences, Faculty of Law, Cairo University in 1969, Diploma in Public Law, Cairo University in 1971 and the Ph.D. in Law, Ain Shams University, in "The Financial Equilibrium of the Administrative Contract in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" in 2007. Dr. Al-Suwailem founded the Saudi Office, Lawyers & Consultants, in 1978, obtained the license No 18-98 issued by the High Court and the Ministry of Commerce respectively. After the issuance of the advocacy law under Royal Decree No. M/38 dated 28/07/1422H, he obtained the license of practicing law No. 7/23 dated 19/05/1423 issued by the Ministry of Justice. Furthermore, he presided over the National Committee of Lawyers at the Council of Saudi Commercial Chambers for a round. Dr. Al-Suwailem assumed pleading in all types of commercial, banking, administrative, civil and labor lawsuits, drafted and reviewed countless contracts and agreements, issued legal consultations and participated in reviewing the drafts of the Saudi laws which are brought by the concerned authorities to the Office. He played a prominent role in solving many disputes through conducting amicable settlements and reconciliations. Dr. Al-Suwailem took part in the following: 1- Vice Chairman (2013-2017) and member of the Lawyers Committee at Riyadh Chamber. 2- Chairman (2009) and member of the National Committee for Lawyers at the Council of Saudi Commercial Chambers. 3- Member of the Lawyers Registration and Admission Committee at the Ministry of Justice in two sessions. 4- Member of the Lawyers Disciplinary Committee at the Ministry of Justice in two sessions. 5- Board member of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration in two sessions. 6- Chartered notary under license No. (293/37) issued by Ministry of Justice. 7- Chairman of the Committee of Preventive Settlement from Bankruptcy in previous session. 8- Member of the Saudi Bar Association. 9- Member of the International Chamber of Commerce in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 10- Member of the International Bar Association (IBA). 11- Registered as chartered arbitrator in arbitrator's roster at the Ministry of Justice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 12- Chartered arbitrator at the Saudi Centre for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA). 13- Member of the Arab Association for International Arbitration. 14- Member of the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre. 15- Chairman of the team supervising the study of commercial laws at Riyadh Economic forum in its fourth round. 16- Chairman of the team supervising the study of justice environment at Riyadh Economic forum in its third round. 17- Member of the International Trademarks Association (INTA). 18- Member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). 19- Member of the Association for the Protection of Industrial Property in the Middle East and North Africa (APPIMAF). 20- He has conducted many researches and treatise in arbitration and its development and efficiency under the applicable law.
