Dr Georg Mertens is an Associate in Fieldfisher´s Dusseldorf office and advises on Corporate Law issues as well as financing and restructuring topics.

A particular focus of his advice is on financial and corporate restructurings in a national and international context. In particular, he advises on transactions and project financing in the context of complex bridge and Real Estate financing. He advises both mezzanine and senior financiers as well as borrowers, particularly in the acquisition of Commercial and residential Real Estate portfolios.

He started working as a lawyer at Fieldfisher in August 2022.

He advises our clients in German and English.

He studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster and, after passing the First State Law Examination, completed his doctorate on a topic related to constitutional history. While completing his doctorate he worked at the Institute for Public Law and Politics.
