Position
Dr Sascha Pres is a Partner in Fieldfisher's Berlin office and advises on Intellectual Property, in particular on Trade Mark, Design and Copyright Law as well as on Competition Law issues.
His particular focus lies in the judicial enforcement of claims against infringers, as well as in the committed and passionate defence against unjustified claims by property right owners. He can draw on many years of experience, in particular in proceedings for interim legal protection and proceedings on the merits before the ordinary courts in Germany, and has successfully conducted numerous proceedings before national and international register authorities (DPMA, EUIPO, WIPO) and their instances, such as the Boards of Appeal, the European Court of Justice or the Federal Patent Court.
In addition, he coordinates complex cross-border disputes in order to enforce his clients' rights internationally just as effectively and efficiently as in their home market or to defend them against attacks.
Career
Before joining Fieldfisher, he worked in major international law firms and most recently for several years as a Partner in a medium-sized German IP firm, where he also headed the Practice Group.
Languages
He advises his clients in German and English.

The German ranking JUVE has listed him for years as a recommended lawyer in the category "Trade Mark and Design Law / Competition Law" and Legal 500 has honoured him as "Name of the Next Generation" in the field of Trade Mark Law.
He has also been honoured internationally with the Client Choice Award and WTR1000 has ranked him among the World's Leading Trademark Professionals in the Silver Tier for years.
Education
He studied in Leipzig, Berlin and Aberystwyth (Wales).
Personal
In addition to his dissertation, which deals with innovative forms of trademarks such as sound and colour marks, he has published various articles and contributions on issues of Trademark and Competition Law in recent years, some of which focus on civil procedural issues.
