Career
Philippe is a barrister and Partner in the Tax and Structuring team specialising in contentious tax. He has advised on domestic and international tax disputes for clients for more than 15 years, including advising on cases ranging from the Tax Tribunals and the High Court to the Supreme Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Philippe worked on domestic and international tax disputes for clients over the last 12 years, on cases ranging from the High Court and Supreme Court to the European Court of Justice.
Having read law in both Germany and France before qualifying as an English Barrister, he regularly advises clients on domestic and cross-border tax issues in German and French.
Philippe advises on all areas of corporate and personal tax and regularly act for corporates, high-net-worth individuals and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and Revenue inquiries (COP 8, COP 9).
He have particular expertise in cross- border litigation and investigations and regularly lead large international teams of lawyers on such matters. Speaking French and German fluently.
Philippe specialises in European law and UK tax law relating to contentious UK income and capital taxes, especially in relation to trusts and non-domiciled individuals. He also advises on VAT and customs duty matters. He regularly provide cross-border strategic advice to corporates, trusts and private clients.
Philippe is also a member of Fieldfisher's specialist IR35 team.
