Senior Lawyer

Hallvard Janbu Høyem is affiliated with the company's departments for Energy, Shipping & Offshore, Forensic Services, and Compliance and Risk Management.

He assists Norwegian and foreign shipowners, charterers, shipyards, P&I clubs, hull insurers and others associated with the maritime industry in matters related to maritime law, marine insurance and contract law. He has particular experience with LNG, marine insurance, project implementation in various jurisdictions, charter party disputes, newbuilding and conversion contracts, purchase and sale of ships, ship arrest, enforcement and proceedings before ordinary courts and in arbitrations.

Hallvard is also part of SANDS' Forensic services team where he assists and advises companies in case of suspicion of wrongful actions and/or unlawful circumstances, and other instances where there is a need to map the factual side of an incident. He assists with, amongst others, sanctions, background checks and IDDs.

He has extensive international experience, including from Singapore where he lived for a longer period of time.
