Career

Mikael has been a partner at Gernandt & Danielsson since 2009 and co-heads the firm’s corporate/capital markets practice group. He has over 20 years’ experience practising law and has been active in a vast range of corporate practice areas in a number of different sectors. Mikael’s work includes private and public M&A, debt and equity capital markets and finance & restructuring, and his qualifications are regularly recognised by clients, peers, and independent national and international rankings. Mikael regularly represents sellers and buyers in corporate transactions for both public and private mandates and he is often involved in large and complex IPOs. He has extensive experience advising on raising capital through share issues, bond issues, and hybrid issues, and is one of the most frequently retained advisors in the Nordics in these areas. Mikael was a pioneer in establishing the legal framework for a domestic market for high yield bonds. Mikael also has substantial experience advising private equity sponsors and companies in the finance sector. In his capacity as a senior advisor to clients, Mikael also regularly serves as chairman or board member for a number of private and/or listed companies.
