Career

Maria Bejan has been a partner at SAXINGER in Vienna since October 2023. She previously worked as an attorney at law in a renowned Viennese business law firm.

From 2017, Maria Bejan worked as an associate and lawyer in various international business law firms in Vienna.

Maria Bejan advises and represents domestic and foreign legal entities in all matters of commercial law, in particular corporate law, general civil law and contract law.

She is a member of the international dispute resolution team and has many years of experience in representing clients in national and international arbitration proceedings (in particular VIAC, ICC, DIS, ad hoc) as well as in litigation.

Maria Bejan is a member of the Austrian Arbitration Association (ArbAut/YAAP) and the Association Suisse de l'Arbitrage (ASA below 40).

Education

After completing her law studies at the University of Vienna (Mag. iur. 2012), Maria Bejan completed a master's programme at Boston University (LL.M. 2015) with a focus on international business law. Maria Bejan then worked as a legal intern at the Federal Supreme Court for the State of Massachusetts in the USA. During this time, Maria Bejan completed training in mediation and conflict resolution at Harvard Law School and passed the New York State Bar Exam (2016).

In 2021, Maria Bejan completed the MIDS programme (LL.M. 2021) at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
