Career
Since 1997 Udo has been working as a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main. Before joining the Frankfurt office of avocado rechtsanwälte as a partner in 2005, he was partner in a large countrywide business law firm. Udo provides legal advice to German and foreign large and medium-sized enterprises on all issues of corporate and business law. His main areas of practice include the provision of legal advice with respect to M&A transactions, reorganisations, IPOs as well as representation in corporate law litigation. In the area of banking law he advises numerous banks, financial service providers and enterprises with respect to financing and issues of banking supervision law (e.g. the establishment of representations/branches of foreign banks, outsourcing, electronic means of payment and e-commerce systems etc.) as well as in judicial and extra-judicial disputes.
In September 2011, Udo was appointed Notary to the Region of the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt/Main, based in Frankfurt/Main. In his function as a Notary, Udo cooperates closely with colleagues as well as tax advisers from other law firms with regard to the notarial execution of transactions (sale and purchase of GmbH-shares, real estate, etc.) as well as restructuring (reorganisations, mergers, etc.).
Udo is working in a honorary capacity as member of the board in various associations. He is distinguished through numerous publications and appearances as guest speaker in the areas of corporate, banking and capital markets law. In 2011, Udo was appointed Counsel of Trust to the Consulate General of Switzerland in Frankfurt/Main (region responsible for Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland).

Education
Udo Zietsch studied Law at the University of Hamburg. During his following work as a research assistant (Erasmus-Programme for Law and Economics) and his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg, he finished his doctorate on the topic of "Liability in telephone banking" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Claus Ott from the University of Hamburg. In addition, Udo successfully completed the mediation program at the "Centrum für Verhandlungen und Mediation (CVM)" [Center for Negotiations and Mediation], which is a research institution of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich to become a commercial mediator.
