Career

Stephan counsels companies with their production and sales activities in France, while supporting managers in awareness-raising and risk mitigation. He builds industrial contracts and cooperation agreements, reviews bidding documents and manages operative incidents on-site or off-site, especially for construction and automotive firms in all phases of construction or assembling.

He advises a number of French and German-speaking companies in their pre-litigation or litigation, in particular in the contractual and commercial matters, i.e. break-off of negotiations, break-off of commercial relations, distribution network issues. He often works on files involving unfair competition or practices restricting free competition. He has transversal experience in industrial risks, insurance law and class actions.

Stephan has in-depth experience in the practices of the French courts and in cross-border enforcement measures.

Education

Stephan is a fellow of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and studied Law in Paris XI / Sceaux, Marburg, Tübingen (LL.M.) and Heidelberg (Dr iur.). He also holds a diploma from the ISIT School for interpreters and translators in Paris.
