Career

Laurence Wynaendts is counsel in the Litigation Department.

Laurence has a dual experience as an avocat and general counsel. She practiced for 14 years in the Commercial Litigation and Arbitration team of a large English law firm in Paris (2000-2014). She then joined HSBC France as General Counsel, in charge of the following teams within the Legal Department: litigation and regulatory enforcement, employment law and data protection. In 2018, she assumed the additional responsibility of overseeing the legal team dealing with the relationship between the bank and its suppliers, competition law and corporate law.

Laurence has developed technical skills and expertise in the monitoring of complex litigation. She advises companies on their litigation strategies, whether domestic or cross-border, before the judicial or arbitral courts.

Laurence became a member of the Paris bar in 2000. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Law (University of Paris XI) as well as a D.E.A in Private International Law and International Trade (University of Paris I).

During several years, she gave lectures in a post-graduate degree dedicated to cross-border business disputes (UPEC). She also lectured at the E.F.B. (Paris Bar School) and at the Law School of Sciences Po Paris.

Laurence is a member of the A.N.J.B. (French Association of bank inhouse lawyers) and of the French Private International Law Committee.
