Position

Mikal Brøndmo specialises in arbitration and litigation, with a special focus on complex and international disputes.

He has provided advice to a considerable number of Norwegian and foreign clients in respect of complex and high-value disputes before state courts and domestic and international arbitral tribunals.

He advises on disputes within a wide range of legal areas, and he has especially experience from representing parties in international construction and energy disputes (both oil & gas and renewables), including offshore wind disputes subject to ICC and GMAA. His extensive experience also includes disputes concerning shipbuilding contracts, defence contracts, distribution contracts, insurance and post M&A.

Brøndmo assists in all stages of a dispute – from early case assessments and claim letters to settlement negotiations, mediation and proceedings before courts and arbitral tribunals to enforcement proceedings.

Brøndmo also acts as an arbitrator in international and domestic arbitrations, such as under rules of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and in ad hoc arbitration. Furthermore, Mikal is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo teaching contract law and civil procedure.
