Position

Raja Rajeswaran Uruthiravinayagan is a solicitor in the public law department at Duncan Lewis’ Harrow office.

He has extensive experience in the Administrative Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, litigating across a broad range of areas and regularly conducting high profile class-action challenges to unlawful policies and practices affecting vulnerable people. This includes appealing decisions under the Immigration European Economic Area (EEA) Regulations, matters involving Article 4 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), unlawful removals to European countries under the Dublin Convention as well as unlawful detentions and returns to countries of origin.

Being committed to social and international justice, he represents both private and publicly funded clients. Many of his clients are extremely vulnerable asylum seekers who are victims of torture, rape and/or trafficking. He is dedicated to protect their right to liberty and to be granted refuge from persecution.

Though choosing to work in Public Law, Raja also has experience in criminal law, regulatory law and immigration law including asylum and human rights matters.

Education

He received both his LLB and LLM from London School of Economics.
