Position

Director Caroline deals with all aspects of wills and probate including; drafting wills to include a wide range of complicated situations; advising in relation to any inheritance tax which may be due from the estate; dealing with the tax situation in both taxable and non-taxable estates; and handling the affairs of a loved one who has died without making a will.

She also specialises in handling Powers of Attorney matters relating to both health and welfare and finance and property. She has a proven track record in successfully dealing with a variety of contentious probate claims; this includes claims made under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, claims for equitable relief under proprietary estoppel, constructive trusts, and resulting trusts, and TOLATA claims.

In addition, Caroline also has extensive experience in dealing with both non-litigated and litigated Clinical Negligence claims as well as considerable experience in representing clients who have been accused of committing motoring offences.

Caroline carries out work for the employment department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors with a particular focus on settlement (compromise) agreements.

Career

Caroline was admitted as a Solicitor in 2012 and worked at a firm for five years before joining Duncan Lewis Solicitors as a partner-level director in 2017.

Caroline is fluent in French, Spanish, and Italian.

Memberships

Caroline is a member of the Society of Trusts and Equity Practitioners and is currently working towards her full qualification. She is also a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).

Caroline has a BA (Hons) degree in French and Spanish from Birkbeck University of London and LLB Honours from Middlesex University.
