Career
Caroline is a partner in Freshfields' international arbitration group, based in Washington, DC. Caroline has acted in many high-profile commercial and investment treaty arbitrations in the energy, mining, infrastructure and telecoms sectors across Latin America, central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Caroline is recognized by Who’s Who Mining (2021) and Who’s Who Legal (2021) as one of the top practitioners in the field of international arbitration and by. She has also been recognized as a “Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Year” by Law360 (2019), a Rising Star in international arbitration by the National Law Journal (2017) and by Law360 (2016). She is co-author of the forthcoming Guide to the ICSID Additional Facility Rules, to be published by Oxford University Press.
Caroline is a Member of the Executive Council of the American Society of International Law (ASIL), a Member of the Academic Council and Advisory Board of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA), a member of the Advisory Board of the Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners’ group, and a member of the Award Review Commission of the International Arbitration Centre of Madrid. She is admitted to the bar in the State of New York, the District of Columbia and Ontario, Canada. She speaks English, French and Spanish.
