Career

With over 17 years of experience in employment law, Elaine advises across the full spectrum of employment matters in both contentious and non-contentious issues. Elaine has particular expertise in contentious matters and routinely acts as an advocate on behalf of clients. She has significant experience in advising large domestic and national employers in relation to policy transformation and strategically significant matters. She also advises many public sector clients and has a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by such clients both at strategic and day to day level.

Elaine has particular expertise in the law pertaining to atypical working and has acted in many of the leading reported cases in this area; authored the chapters on atypical working for the Irish Law Society’s textbook on Employment Law and the Law Society’s online Student Manual and lectures for the Law Society Diploma in Employment Law. She also lectures at many external conferences including for Public Affairs Ireland and Legal Island.
