Career

Dr Thomas Ritter studied law at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and the Freie Universität Berlin as well as music (cello) in Stuttgart and at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin.

He earned his doctorate in German and European energy antitrust law and was about to start working as a lawyer for Daimler-Benz Interservices (debis). Since 1998 he has been working as a lawyer up to the appeal stage and since 2017 as a lawyer at CBH.Dr Thomas Ritter advises companies forensically and in their personnel work and advises employers on all questions of collective and individual employment law. A special feature of his work is his many years of experience for hospitals, public and church companies and the solution of specific legal problems in the areas of public sector employee compensation structures, e.g. MAVO, MVG and BAT/TVöD.

He also advises his clients in the field of non-profit law and has written the chapter "Die Aktiengesellschaft als gemeinnütziges Unternehmen" in the 3rd edition, 2018, Münchener Anwaltshandbuch Aktienrecht. A further focus of Dr Thomas Ritter's activities is building law and public law mandates pertaining to the law of water associations and subsidy law.

Dr Thomas Ritter is a member of the Working Group on Employment Law, Tenancy Law and Real Estate of the German Bar Association and the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS). He is a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung Cusanuswerk and a member of the BKU. He is also socially engaged, among other things as chairman of the Association for the Promotion of the Egyptian Museum Berlin.
