Career

Valia has been involved in numerous high-profile energy sector transactions in Greece, both for international and domestic clients. She is seasoned in energy law (renewable energy, oil & gas, combined cycle gas – fired power, waste management), project finance, M&A and PPPs. She has participated in complex energy transactions, advising on various energy sector regulatory, project development and financing issues.

She has also handled transactions, including regulatory consents, risk allocation and lender liability issues, and she has commented on legislative changes to the environmental and regulatory framework for RES and natural gas. Valia regularly advises potential investors and existing clients with respect to the regulatory and legal requirements, applying to their energy related activities in Greece.

Education

She has an LL.B. in Hellenic Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an LL.M. in Tax Law from the Queen Mary University of London (in coordination with London School of Economics (LSE)
