Georgina Zavala is an associate of the Environmental, Agrarian and Social Impact, Life Sciences & Health Care and Sanitary Regulation practice areas at Pérez-Llorca. She has vast experience advising clients during procedures to obtain authorizations, concessions, licenses and permits applicable to their operations, as well as in the defense of these across administrative proceedings. She also has expertise in the filing of nullity lawsuits before local and federal authorities, such as the National Water Commission and the Federal Court of Administrative Justice.
Georgina’s experience also includes advising clients from the automotive industry in relation to Mexican Official Standards certifications related to air emissions, safety devices and regulation of the transportation of auto parts in Mexico. She has also taken part in several mining-related transactions, such as operations for the purchase of mining claims, including overseeing compliance matters.
Georgina is also an expert regulatory compliance lawyer in relation to products (especially electronic and electrical items), supporting clients in the importing process of marketing products, ensuring they comply with the applicable regulations, thus avoiding any potential procedure or sanctions from either the Federal Consumer Protection Agency, or customs authorities. Georgina is a key player in the growth of the firm’s Life Sciences practice.

She holds a master’s degree in administrative law from Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City, and a Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (with Honors). Georgina also holds a Diploma in Corporate Compliance by Universidad Panamericana, a Diploma in Digital Economy by ICC and Escuela Libre de Derecho and a Diploma in Carbon Markets: Advanced Level, awarded by the National Association of the Chemical Industry (ANIQ), the Mexican Carbon Platform (MEXICO2) and The Carbon Trust.
