Career

David Masson is a partner specialized in banking and financial regulation.

He advises French and foreign financial institutions (credit institutions, investment companies, payment institutions, management companies and insurance companies) on their legal, regulatory and compliance issues and obligations.

David is involved in both structuring regulated entities (defining the scope of business, governance and internal control mechanisms) and creating and distributing financial products (investment funds, banking, payment and investment services, and insurance products), notably in connection with new marketing arrangements, geographic repositioning and corporate finance transactions.

David assists his clients in finance-related disputes, whether disciplinary (AMF, ACPR, ECB or EMSA, notably in connection with client protection, combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, market abuse and interpretation of prudential rules) or before the courts.

He also lobbies on behalf of clients  before European and French authorities and professional associations.

Finally, David has developed expertise in designing and implementing compliance and anti-corruption programs for financial institutions and industrial entities (e.g., risk mapping, drafting codes of conduct and third-party evaluation procedures, preparing for French Anti-Corruption Authority (AFA) audits, implementation of remediation plans).

David has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2006 and joined Racine in 2019.
