After 30+ years at Gianni & Origoni - Renato Giallombardo joined the EY TAX & LAW ITALY in 2021 with colleagues Luca Spagna, Anna Chiara Mastellone and Margherita Mercatali  (also former Gianni & Origoni lawyers) as well as other four junior members of the team

Renato has also been active outside of the tradition role of a lawyer – having been involved with a number of important advisory committees throughout his career such as:

Renato Giallombardo is a Partner of the firm and the M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital Law Leader for EY TAX & LAW ITALY.

He joined EY in February 2021 after a 30+ years career at Gianni & Origoni – where as a Partner,  he held a number of senior roles including Managing Partner of the Bologna and Abu Dhabi offices, Head of Venture Capital, Co-Head Private Equity, and as MENA Region Coordinator.

A true Statesman of the profession with a strong network of clients and relations all over the world, he is widely recognized both nationally and internationally as one of the most senior Italian business lawyers - active since 1990 – and for his prominent work on numerous top level  M&A transactions throughout  his career - which has seen him close  200+ M&A and Private Equity matters in a variety of industrie including infrastructure, healthcare, food, motorways, airports, real estate, telecom etc.

Renato Giallombardo is recognized as a pioneer of the business law practice in Italy and today, as an active member of the EY team, as a disruptive and innovative lawyer giving a boost to a new way to interpret and manage the profession by integrating tools and services beyond the ordinary practice, meeting new needs and expectations of 4.0 clients.
