Charles is EY’s Energy, Infrastructure and Finance Lead for Law in the UK. His notable matters include leading the team advising the Government of Cyprus (through the Natural Gas Public Company of Cyprus) on the LNG Import Terminal project, which aims to deliver gas to the country, and for the Government of Botswana on its US$2bn resources to Liquid Fuels project.

Charles was for five years (until 2017) the International Group Head of DLA Piper's Finance & Projects Group. In 2019, Charles was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge. He joined EY in 2020 and is currently ranked by Chambers as a Foreign Expert for Africa-wide Projects & Energy.
