Karen Root is an attorney-at-law whose main areas of expertise involve corporate law and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Karen has an extensive experience in corporate law and M&A. She has led several cross-border restructurings and she has participated in or headed numerous legal due diligence and M&A transactions.

For her vast experience in working closely together with several BIG4 leading auditors, Karen is a valued expert who is often working in partnership with PwC accounting consultancy team, assisting clients in complex matters from legal issues to accounting entries.

Furthermore, Karen has written several articles and given practical trainings related to corporate law.

Karen started her career in 1994 as a lawyer at Tallinna Pank, which was at that time the leading commercial bank in Estonia. For the next 15 years Karen worked initially for KPMG Baltics and then for KPMG Law Firm in Estonia.

Karen is a member of the Estonian Bar Association since 2014 and since 2021 also a member of the Audit Committee of the Estonian Bar.

Karen Root holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Tartu.
