Career

Alessia is a Senior Associate member of CBA, who is involved in all the IP judicial cases of CBA assisting both Italian and foreign clients in proceedings involving patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. She also assists the clients, both on a day-to-day basis and in relation to extraordinary transactions, in the areas of civil, commercial and IP law. His activities consist in providing specialized consultancy in conceiving, structuring, negotiating and drafting a wide variety of contracts, including international licenses, general terms and conditions, transfer of technology agreements, sponsorship contracts, JVs, R&D and joint development agreements and service agreements, as well as supply, distribution, procurement and agency agreements. She assists both Italian and foreign companies with regard to trademarks, patents, trade secrets, design, copyright, made-in, on-line piracy, IT, IoT and unfair competition. She supports both Mattia Dalla Costa and Barbara Sartori, coordinating younger member of the team. She is involved in assisting clients within a wide variety of industries, for instance in the automotive, aerospace, chemical, fashion energy sector.

From 2019 to 2022 Alessia has also been Secretary of LES Licensing Executive Society – Italy, an international organization active in the field of technology and intellectual property licensing and one of the biggest IP associations with more than 10,000 individual members worldwide.

During the year 2022 this role also required the organization of the events planned by the association, in particular the 2022 LES INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE titled “Restarting business and fueling innovation”, that for the first time in the first 50 years of history has been organised in Italy, Venice with the participation of more than 500 person. She is currently a member of the LES Italy Executive committee.

She is also a member of our Millennial Committee, a recent internal project aimed at fostering the implementation of ideas and projects conceived by a selected group of CBA’s young professionals.

CBA Studio Legale e Tributario’s IP department assists Italian and international clients, with a focus on Germany, in a wide range of IP infringement cases. It is also equipped to advise clients on drafting and negotiating agreements. Dual qualified in Italy and Germany, practice co-head Mattia Dalla Costa notably handles IP-driven M&A and litigation in cross-border judicial and arbitral proceedings related to IP and IT infringement and counterfeiting. Fellow co-head Barbara Sartori specialises in corporate law, trademarks and patents, areas in which Alessia Ferraro is also well versed.
