Career

Eli heads Gross & Co.’s China Practice and is a partner in the firm’s Hi-Tech and Venture Capital Department.

Eli represents a diverse clientele which includes start-ups, growth stage companies, venture capital, private equity, and hedge funds, and private and strategic investors. His broad transactional practice focuses on equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, fund formation, and intellectual property commercialization. Eli has more than 15 years of experience in conducting China-Israel cross border transactions including both inbound and outbound foreign direct investment, joint ventures, IP commercialization, and fund formation.

Prior to joining Gross & Co., Eli spent 10 years as General Counsel of the Infinity venture capital fund which pioneered China–Israel technology and investment cooperation while he was with the fund. Among the many China-Israel cross border transactions Eli conducted on behalf of Infinity were the establishment of China’s first FIVCE joint venture fund by Infinity and the venture capital arm of the Suzhou Industrial Park in 2004 and the 2005 investment in Israel’s Shellcase by Infinity and a Chinese venture capital fund.

Before joining Infinity, Eli was General Counsel of MIND CTI Ltd., a NASDAQ listed software company. Eli began his legal career during 1999 in the international and hi-tech department of another leading Tel Aviv law firm. Eli completed his articles with Gardiner Roberts, LLP, a prestigious Toronto law firm.
