Thomas Plattner has worked for the law firm Ospelt & Partner Attorneys at Law Ltd. since 2019. Thomas Plattner successfully completed his studies in business administration at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Innsbruck in 1998 (Mag.rer.soc.oec.) and subsequently began his professional career as an assistant tax consultant in a partnership of lawyers and tax consultants in Germany. He then moved to the External Bank Audit Department of the Raiffeisenlandesverband Salzburg.

In 2006 Thomas Plattner successfully graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Salzburg (Mag.iur.) and completed an internship at Salzburg Regional Court. Thomas Plattner started working for a Liechtenstein law firm with an affiliated trust company in 2007 and passed the Liechtenstein fiduciary examination in 2012.

In 2013 Thomas Plattner moved to the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA). There he worked on a number of financial market regulation topics and was a member of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) Task Force on the Development of Implementing Provisions (Level II) for the European Regulation of Central Securities Depositories (CSD Task Force) from 2013 to 2016. In addition, his activities consisted of supervision in the field of money laundering prevention and of casinos in Liechtenstein. In 2017 Thomas Plattner passed the Liechtenstein bar examination.
