Thomas’s expertise comprises writing and prosecuting patent applications, and handling patents, in the fields of electrochemistry, chemistry and chemical engineering, material science, textiles, nanotechnology, fertilizers and agricultural methods, water treatment, waste treatment, biotechnologies, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, food technologies, cosmetics, medical and diagnostic methods and systems.

Thomas enjoys transforming each of his client’s inventions into a strong patent application, after thoroughly inspecting the invention within its surrounding technological landscape, while uncovering and protecting even concealed advantages. In particular, Thomas is passionate about turning embryonic inventive ideas into a full-fledged technique or a complete product.

Education

After obtaining a degree in chemistry and a Ph.D. in molecular biology, Thomas worked as a researcher in biotechnological firms, and as a QA/QC manager of a company developing and marketing chemicals and biochemicals. He has developed tens of chemical products employed in labs and industry and co-authored a number of patents and scientific publications.

During his work, Thomas gained extensive experience in microbiology, protein chemistry, organic chemistry, chromatography, and analytical methods. In 2000, Thomas joined The Luzzatto Group and after qualifying as an Israeli patent attorney, he became a partner in 2006.
