Dr. Okan Gündüz has significant experience in dispute resolution, corporate law, commercial law, contracts law, competition law, employment law, consumer law, public tenders as well as compliance investigations. He has been advising multinational and domestic companies acting in various sectors, including healthcare and life sciences, energy, technology and education.

With over 20 years of experience, Okan represents clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including commercial disputes arising from agency, distribution, sponsorship, sale and purchase agreements; unfair competition; intellectual property rights; recovery of large-scale debts; insolvency; product liability; consumer protection and customs fines, as well as employment law disputes and real estate disputes.

Career

Dr. Okan Gündüz joined Kolcuoğlu Demirkan Koçaklı in 2023. He has worked at another reputable Istanbul-based law firm until 2009, and then continued to practice law in law firms in which he was partner. In addition to his admission to the Istanbul and New York Bar Associations, he is also a solicitor in England & Wales.

Between 2011 and 2017, Okan lectured on civil procedure law and enforcement & bankruptcy law at an Istanbul-based university. His scientific articles in civil procedure law have been published in various law publications.

He is a co-author of “Government Procurement Review,” Chapter Turkey, 4th edition, the Law Reviews (2016) and the author of “Legal Implications of Lifting the Claim Amount by Amendment Pleading,” Journal of Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law, vol. 2, issue 3 (2017), “Frivolous Appeal”, Journal of Istanbul Bar Association, vol. 93, issue 2019/4 (2019) and “Case Management in Civil Procedure Law in light of Anglo-American Law” (Ph.D. thesis) Yetkin Publishing (2009).
