Career

Eva Gak counsels on the formulating and implementing of IP strategy for a wide range of technologies. She is responsible managing IP portfolios of numerous Israeli and foreign clients, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Israel and other countries, assessing freedom to operate and due diligence operations, and representing foreign clients in front of the Israeli Patent Office.

Her fields of expertise include:

Biotech – genomics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and microbiology Medical products – therapeutics & diagnostics Agrotechnologies Foodtech and functional foods Cannabis and cannabinoids-based products

Eva has extensive experience and knowledge in R&D projects and basic research in molecumedicine, diagnostics, genetics, pharmacogenetics, personalized medicine, and drug development as a researcher, research director, and mentor of graduate students.

Eva graduated from the Hebrew University with B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Life Sciences, and a Ph.D. from Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the NCI, NIH, USA, and later at Sacco University Hospital in Milan. She further served several roles at the Sheba Medical Center, the largest university hospital in Israel.

In the second part of her career, Eva specialized as a patent attorney in Life Sciences, Chemistry, and Biotech. In recent years, she became involved in a growing number of projects in the field of cannabis, including protection of specific strains, production methods, formulations of isolated cannabinoids and whole plant extracts for use as medical or herbal products, for specific clinical indications, food supplements or as cosmetic products, as well as specific methods and devices for this type of products.

Eva has more than 30 scientific publications to her name, including peer reviewed Academic Articles and Chapters in Books.
