Position

Ece Guner has more than 25 years of experience. She formed her office in July 1996. As resident and founding partner, she has been leading projects of the firm in Turkey for the past 25 years. Ece Guner advised Shell on its over US$4 billion acquisition (as part of a consortium with the Koc Group) of Turkish state-owned refinery Tupraswhich formed the second biggest oil distribution company in Turkey.Some other examples of clients the firm advised include international private equity fund General Atlantic in its recent acquisition of the leading Turkish ecommerce company YemekSepeti, MapeiS.p.a. in its acquisition of Wallmerk adhesives, Cadbury Schweppes Plc, Advent or Aviva Plc. among others. The Firm’s strong banking and project finance expertise covers all aspects of B&F matters including syndicated and structured loans, asset or trade finance, project finance and Islamic finance. The Firm advised Standard Chartered Bank on a loan facility worth close to a $1 billion granted to a local bank; SociétéGénérale on a project financing of a mining project worth USD 325,000,000, İs Bankası on acquisition finance for the acquisition of AFM Cinema; as well as ING Bank NV, Raiffeisen Bank International AG and HSBC Bank plc among others. The Firm recently advised an energy company owned by Gama and General Electric on theproject financing of an 840MW combined cycle gas turbine power project and Limak in relation to the USD 105,000,000 financing of the privatization of the Hamitabat 1,120MW power plant.
