Elliot Lister is a Partner in Asserson's Dispute Resolution team

Career

Elliot is an experienced litigator with a track record of success in complex and challenging litigation and international arbitrations. He has particular expertise in emergency relief applications and enforcement. He has been consistently recommended by the Legal 500 for a number of years, which has described him as “dedicated and creative.”

Elliot’s international client base includes some of Israel’s largest companies, and he is happy to advise in both Hebrew and English. He has higher rights of audience and has acted as lead counsel in a number of arbitrations. He regularly advises Israeli firms on English law issues and provides expert legal opinions on English law.

Prior to joining Asserson, Elliot worked at two leading Manchester legal practices. He graduated in English and Russian from the University of Birmingham where he was elected as President of the Students Union. He went on to work in human rights and the voluntary sector before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course.

Education

Elliot graduated in English and Russian from the University of Birmingham before beginning his career as a lobbyist for human rights in the former Soviet Union. Subsequently, Elliot moved to law, achieving commendations in both the Graduate Diploma in Law Common Professional Examination and in the Diploma in Legal Practice following which he became an associate in the litigation departments of two Manchester city centre firms before joining Assersons in 2006.
