Position

Dr Moritz Mentzel advises German and international companies on corporate law issues and M&A projects. At Luther’s Berlin office, he is a contact for start-ups, founders and investors in the context of financing rounds, among other things, as well as for medium-sized companies when it comes to investment projects.

Career

After studying law at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich (Germany), Dr Moritz Mentzel carried out his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Munich, which also included working for a business law firm in Madrid (Spain). Dr Moritz Mentzel completed a doctorate in tax law and, from 2013 to 2015, worked for Luther as a research assistant, dealing with corporate law issues. He joined Luther as a lawyer in 2015.

Moritz Mentzel is one of the organisers of the Luther StartUp Conference held annually in Berlin, a lecturer of the “Get yourself ready!” workshop series designed for early-stage start-ups and part of the elective subject “Startup Health” at the Berlin Charité university hospital, where he lectures on the legal framework conditions for establishing and financing start-ups. He is also a regular author on current corporate law topics.
