Career

Edin Karakaš specialises in domestic and international dispute resolution and investment law. Edin advises clients on litigation cases and domestic and international arbitrations (UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID and PAC-CCE). His has worked on both commercial and investment treaty disputes.

In addition, he regularly works on M&A and finance project. He is currently engaged on a corporate governance project for the EBRD aimed at improving corporate governance and disclosure practices of companies listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange and strengthening the monitoring and implementation practices.

Edin has been the firm’s lead finance lawyer on numerous banking, finance and capital markets transactions. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, he has advised on the finance side of large M&A and private equity deals, project finance, refinancing and capital markets. Edin regularly advises international financial institutions on all aspects of their operations in Croatia, including regulatory advice and support on offering complex financial products to Croatian customers (swaps, derivatives, cash pooling, etc.).

He is frequently engaged to advise on complex contemporary matters that periodically come up, such as harmonisation of legislation with new EU directives, zero-floor interest rates or the impact of Brexit on doing business in Croatia.
