Career

Mihovil Granić is a key partner in the firm’s banking and finance department advising major international and domestic banks and financial institutions. Mihovil advises on syndicated loans, acquisition finance and project finance.

He was the head of the Croatian legal team that advised on the largest public debt restructuring deal ever in Croatia - debt optimisation of the Croatian motorway and road sector, including a cross-border restructuring of a EUR 5.3 billion loan portfolio and a EUR 1.275 billion sovereign bond issuance.

Mihovil is also active in dispute resolution practice. He is involved in several high-profile disputes, mainly representing banks. Mihovil is the lead partner representing 1 out of 8 of the largest banks in Croatia in probably the most important civil dispute in the Croatian history, initiated by the Croatian Association for Consumer Protection against banks for alleged unfair loans granted in CHF.

Additionally, he is handling a large portfolio of civil litigation proceedings for the same bank. Mihovil was the lead partner in arbitration before the Croatian Bar Association representing Croatian law firm in relation to claim for unpaid legal fees. After the final positive decision Mihovil represented the law firm in the successful enforcement of the claim.
