Marcella de Haan is a lawyer/partner at Ekelmans Advocaten. With more than 17 years of experience, she is an expert in the field of insurance and liability law. Marcella is a leading lawyer not only in the Engineering practice, but also in Professional Liability and Corporate Liability.

Marcella is known as a talented litigator, both in civil court and before arbitration boards and dispute committees. Her strength lies not only in successfully resolving disputes, but also in preventing them.

In addition to her work as a lawyer, Marcella shares her knowledge, among other things, as a guest lecturer at the Insurance Law Course of the University of Amsterdam and Erasmus University (subject Professional Liability).

She is also an editorial board member of the online journal Insurance Law, Liability, Damage and Supervision (VAST) and a board member of the Insurance Law Association. Marcella has several publications to her credit, including the Professional Liability Handbook and the Insurance Law Compendium.

Marcella began her career at Ekelmans Lawyers, where she worked as an attorney from 2007 to 2012. She then made the move to NN Advocaten, where she also assumed operational management since 2020.

In 2016, she completed the postgraduate Grotius course in Business and Liability cum laude. In October 2024, she returned to Ekelmans Advocaten, where she now continues to strengthen the insurance practice as a partner.
