Career
Chi is the Head of Property Disputes and is recognised as one of the UK’s leading experts in leasehold enfranchisement.
Chi is a highly experienced lawyer working closely with a wide portfolio of corporate and individual clients advising on their property-related issues. Chi was educated at The London School of Economics and worked as a litigator for over 15 years in a City practice before becoming a partner in a Kent firm. More recently Chi was a partner in a boutique firm in the West End of London before joining Greenwoods.
In particular, Chi specialises in dispute resolution ranging from all types of landlord and tenant disputes (including disrepair and dilapidations), debt recovery, 1954 Act (business lease) renewals and terminations, breach of covenants and forfeiture, Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 issues, rent and service charge recovery, service charge disputes, terminations of leases or tenancies, enforcement of judgments (charging orders and orders for sale), adverse possession applications, all types of possession proceedings and mortgage actions. Chi has extensive knowledge in both residential and commercial landlord and tenant matters.
Chi is renowned for her expertise on leasehold and collective enfranchisement. She acted for the leaseholders in the leading case of The Sloane Stanley Estate Ltd and Wellcome Trust Ltd v Mundy, Lagesse and Aaron [2016] at the Upper Tribunal which tested the Parthenia model of relativity graphs. She regularly advises and acts on complex and disputed enfranchisement matters. She is a member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners and the Property Litigation Association.
Chi is praised by clients for her clear and practical approach to dispute resolution and is often described as a safe pair of hands.
