Being involved in litigation can be a difficult time for clients, whether they are bringing or defending a claim.
Adele aims to understand each client’s individual commercial objectives so that advice and tactics can be tailored to those.
Adele’s wealth of experience in dealing with a variety of disputes, both through the courts, via arbitration, expert determination and mediation, enables her to guide clients through the dispute resolution process in a clear and user friendly way.
Adele joined Greenwoods as a Trainee has been with the firm ever since, working her way up through the ranks to Partner level.
During her time at Greenwoods Adele has obtained a wealth of experience in a variety of commercial disputes across a number of sectors. Clients span major well know companies, based in the UK and in other jurisdictions, smaller owner-managed businesses as well as private individuals.
Recent work examples include:
Acting for a client in relation to the recovery of loan monies in excess of $2.5m. Advising a subsidiary of a large international corporation in relation to a dispute with Royal Mail following Royal Mail terminating a supply contract. Providing a variety of advice relating to a dispute between shareholders of a family run land regeneration and development company following the sale of part of the business, where one of the allegations involves the fact that the sale was at an undervalue in excess of £100m. Acting for a national retailer in relation to a professional negligence claim arising out of its defence of court proceedings alleging it had infringed a third a party’s intellectual property right. Advising in relation to various disputes arising out of an option agreement over the purchase of land, including defending injunction applications and dealing with contested expert determinations.
