Iva Basarić is a Co-chair of Babić & Partners' Corporate and M&A practice and the Chair of the firm’s Banking and finance practice. Iva holds an LLM from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College London.

Her practice focuses on mergers & acquisitions and private equity transactions, corporate law matters, financing transactions and antitrust/competition matters. She routinely advises clients on a wide spectrum of corporate law issues — from day-to-day corporate maintenance to complex domestic and cross-border transactions (both on sell and buy-side), providing full range of services, from transaction structuring and negotiation to implementation, as well as post-acquisition integration, spin-offs, mergers and corporate restructurings. As part of her finance practice, Iva advises multinational companies (both lenders and borrowers) on general lending, loans and credit facilities, project finance and acquisition financings. She is experienced in advising clients from various sectors, including consumer goods & retail, defence, energy & resources, financial services, hotel & leisure, life sciences, real estate, technology & telecommunications.

Iva’s contentious experience in competition practice includes advising and representing clients on a broad spectrum of issues, including merger control, cartel investigations and leniency, competition compliance programs, abuse proceedings and distribution and licensing arrangements across national and multinational industries. She has led several internal compliance training programs for clients.

She has authored a number of articles for a variety of external legal publications, and is also a frequent speaker and guest panelist at conferences on competition, corporate law and real estate issues and developments (including speaker engagements at the International Bar Association’s conferences).
