Career

Boris Babić is the Chair of Babić & Partners' Antitrust & Competition practice. Having 25 years of wide-ranging experience in advising global and local market leaders on merger control, cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases and competition compliance programs, Boris is globally recognized as a pioneering competition practitioner in Croatia. His track record includes advising on several Croatian landmark competition cases, including market-first foreign-to-foreign merger clearance, market-first withdrawal of a pricing abuse charges by Croatian regulator, and market-first competition dawn raid. Boris has also been actively involved in drafting of the national competition legislation, including in particular 2003 Competition Act and 2017 Act on implementation of the EU Damages Directive into Croatian law. He is experienced in advising clients from diverse range of sectors, ranging from air transportation, automotive, consumer goods and retail, energy & resources, financial services, pharmaceuticals, to e-commerce.

A frequent speaker at international conferences relating to a variety of antitrust and competition issues, Boris also publishes articles in various legal books and magazines, and is a co-author of Croatian chapter in Thomson Reuters’ European Lawyer Reference Series: Merger Control, Jurisdictional Comparisons, and the editor of Kluwer Law International: Competition Law in Central and Eastern Europe.
