As a partner with the firm’s Finance & Insurance team and a business sector enthusiast, all my energy goes into providing cross-practice advice to financial sector companies.

Finance sector team leader. Within the firm Augustas leads this team by assembling legal experts to establish the specific legal needs of clients and provide them with exact solutions.

Most complex transactions. It has been a privilege to advise financial sector companies in most complex and innovative transactions. For example, Augustas worked with the Lithuanian legal teams that advised the Nasdaq, Luminor, Šiaulių bankas and LNG Terminal transactions.

Co-author for country opinion. In 2018 Augustas co-authored the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) netting country opinion for Lithuania. As Sorainen is a member of ISDA, Augustas plays an active role at meetings and provide insights on national derivatives-related regulations.

Advising FinTech firms. FinTech companies often seek Augustas' advice on licencing their activities in the EU as well as to help them streamline operations after they obtain licences.

Ex-banker. His focus on the financial sector and cross-practice benefits is continuous: before joining Sorainen Augustas headed the legal unit at DNB Lithuania (now Luminor).
