Position

I am head of the firm‘s Startup sector group in Lithuania. I specialise in M&A transactions, as well as private equity and venture capital investments in startups and technology companies. I also advise clients on corporate and commercial law matters.

Career

M&A deals in the technology sector. My main specialisation is assisting companies developing technology services and products. Among the key requirements these clients have for a legal service provider are speed and accuracy. The phrase “the early bird gets the worm” carries extra weight in this sector – I had a case when the distance from the letter of intent to signing the contract had to be covered in a week, including conducting legal due diligence and several rounds of negotiations in between.

The transformation of the Lithuanian tech sector. Among my most significant projects have been representing Tesonet and Oxylabs, the trailblazing Lithuanian technology companies. Whether in assisting Oxylabs to complete the first acquisition in Silicon Valley by a Lithuanian tech company, or by helping Tesonet to acquire part of the company managing the site of the Sparta factory in Naujamiestis and to transform it into CyberCity, which was the largest real estate lease deal of that year, it is a joy and honour for me to contribute to the fantastic growth of our startup and tech sector.

Improving the investment environment. While working at the Lithuanian Ministry of Finance, I actively contributed to improving the business climate for both large companies and startups. I conducted research and was a member of an expert group whose goal was improving conditions for companies seeking to raise capital through the regulated stock market. I also led an inter-institutional working group responsible for developing regulatory guidelines for young companies on the subject of alternative modes of funding. I am happy to be further contributing to the development of the startup sector in Lithuania by periodically organising Sorainen Legal Clinic and other initiatives.
