Position

I am a versatile real estate lawyer with extensive experience in advising clients on real estate transactions, construction regulation, zoning and planning, cultural heritage protection, as well as real estate disputes. This combination allows me to provide clients with efficient legal services during all the stages of real estate development – from acquiring land and obtaining a construction permit to completing the construction and utilizing real estate.

Career

Participation in unique project of State significance. I am a co-author of a study on the comparative analysis of land use regulation of five major EU seaports and Klaipėda Seaport. On the basis of the study I drafted new laws on land granting and lease regulation of Klaipėda State Seaport which were adopted by the Lithuanian Parliament. Also I successfully represented the Republic of Lithuania in negotiations with the European Commission in relation to the infringement procedure of EU law regarding incompatibility of legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania regulating the lease of port land with the principles of freedom of establishment of the European Union. The infringement procedure against the Republic of Lithuanian has been terminated by the European Commission.

Focus on client experience. According to The Legal 500, clients refer to me as “always ready to support. Very professional leading in the process. Advice based on his own and his co-workers’ experience is very valuable. A very good feeling of the situations in negotiations. Simonas Skukauskas and Aušra Mudėnaitė always can be recommended by Rewo to anyone who is searching for legal support in the real estate field.”

Cultural heritage protection. I am one of the few lawyers in Lithuania who deeply specialize in the field of cultural heritage protection. I have taken part in many precedent setting cases and advised most prominent developers dealing with issues related to cultural heritage protection.

Real estate investment. I often assist investors, including developers, real estate funds and wealthy individuals, in large commercial real estate sale or investment transactions. I value the opportunity to work on commercial real estate projects with a strong emphasis on concept, tenants’ needs and professional property management.

Experience in defending clients’ interests in the courts. With a combination of universal experience acquired both in advising on transactions and development as well as representation in the courts, I am able to better understand our clients’ needs and offer well rounded legal advice.
